The Aftermath

We ended up getting 19.3 inches of snow yesterday. This breaks the all-time record for any single calendar day snowfall in December for the Washington, DC area. The previous December daily record was 11.5 inches set on Dec 17, 1932.

Usually the weekend before Christmas means one last scramble to the mall for Christmas gifts. Instead, we spent the day enjoying the sunshine. Everyone in our neighborhood flung open their garage doors and the street was full of people. Children played in the snow as the dads tackled the piles that lay before them. And, the best news of the day was that daddy gets a snow day tomorrow! Hooray!

PS - To the family members that contributed to my new camera, thank you! I love it. Hope you enjoy the photos.
