Farewell California

After about 22 months in California, we are on the move again. We are going to really miss our time here. I stood out in the fog this morning and cried as the moving truck pulled up. Brandon's next assignment is at the Pentagon for one year. We had attempted to buy a home in Virginia, but the falling price of housing caused us to reconsider. We are number 19 on the waiting list for housing at the base in Washington, D.C. The housing office is estimating this to be a one to three month wait for one of their newer town homes. So, we have instructed the moving company to move our furniture in the direction of the Pentagon and we will try to figure out what to do in the mean time.

Anne has been doing really well with the move and is excited to get her new goldfish in DC. Here is a photo of her decorating the moving boxes in her room so we would know which ones were hers. She also got her first camera so she is able to document all of the action. So, despite having lived in Munich, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. by the time she was two years old, she seems to be hanging in there.

Our moves seem to be about equally complicated!

Our movers don't come until Aug. 11 so you're welcome to drive over to NJ if you need a place to stay for a few days!

I was going to email you this week to see when ya'll were heading to D.C.!

Ya'll are in good company, lots of folks are moving, the Agte's head to Boston this month. We got to see them last month while TDY to C. Springs for 3 weeks.

I have a TDY to D.C. in the next month or two, hopefully we'll get to meet up there since we missed each other on my TDY to L.A.

It's hard to believe that Claire is almost 6 months! We miss ya'll! Hopefully we'll see you soon.

I really wanted to go out and stop the moving truck because we don't want you guys to move away!! :-(
We hope all goes well in the transit to D.C., and that you get into suitable housing sooner rather than later.
We wish you all the very very best, and we'll see you around in this small Air Force.

So, how's the housing dilemma? We've had our fair share of problems, too, but as of right now, we'll be there by Aug. 20 in Bristow. Furniture won't arrive until Aug. 25, but we'll have plenty of floor space if you need a place to crash! Drop an e-mail when you get a chance: lcbroyles@gmail.com.
Cheers,
Lanna
